Healing little hearts in Zimbabwe
Our work in Harare is supported through HeartGift Foundation grants. Dr. Hesham Shawky has now led two training visits to Parirenyatwa Hospital in each of the last two years. He is joined by other Egyptian healthcare professionals. Our goal is to ignite interest at Parirenyatwa Hospital to support a pediatric cardiac program which can provide hope to Zimbabwean children with heart ailments. Currently, the provision of care for these children in Zimbabwe is woeful. There is an adult program at the hospital, which we are looking to build the pediatric program through. We submitted a grant to the HeartGift Foundation to support a visit in 2026. We have received significant support with logistics from the local Rotary Club.
