Sadly, children in Kosova who are born with heart disease have no access to cardiac care. Over the past 11 years, eleven visits have been conducted to Prishtina, where children have been screened and placed on a pediatric cardiac waiting list for treatment either through our global network or during one of our training visits.

In 2019, we conducted our first-ever surgical and catheterization visit to Kosova to help address the congenital heart disease crisis. During the global pandemic, we were able to mobilize our volunteer medical teams three times in 2021 and three times in 2022 to heal little hearts in Prishtina.  Following our November 2023 surgical and catheterization visit, we paused our schedule of visits to Kosova.  In 2026, we will be reviewing the continuation of this program.
