Ezekiel is a young boy from Guyana who received his heart healing surgery in August of 2024.
Ezekiel was just eight years old when he had his operation for his congenital heart defect, Tetralogy of Fallot. This condition is healed by patching a hole in the heart and removing excess muscle so that blood may flow easier.

Ezekiel is from Linden, about a three hour drive from Georgetown. He lives with his mother and three older siblings. He’s got two older sisters that are twenty-two and twenty, and an older brother that is fourteen.
Ezekiel’s mother’s name is Angela. Angela is a police officer! Angela told us that she had no idea anything was wrong with Ezekiel until her cousin, who is a doctor, did Ezekiel’s two-week-old checkup. After this check-up, they were sent to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation to figure out how to get Ezekiel help.

Today, almost two years after his surgery, Ezekiel is thriving!
Angela, Ezekiel’s mother, told us, “Life with him presently is much better. He’s moving, he’s more active. He’s more active in school, he’s running, he’s walking far. But, before the surgery I had to fetch him around, it was hard. Now he is one hundred percent himself! He is so much better, thank you very much!”

At Gift of Life International, we are proud to be part of Ezekiel’s heart healing journey and we are glad that his mother was able to give us a recent update. Way to go Ezekiel and thank you Angela!
