Meet Angelica!

Angelica is a four-year-old girl from Honduras. She lives with her parents, grandparents, and sister who have loved and supported her throughout her entire heart healing journey.
Angelica’s heart condition was discovered after she developed a fever. During a medical checkup, doctors identified her heart condition. Since Angelica was still very young, she was not eligible for surgery. Doctors referred Angelica to El Salvador‘s Benjamin Bloom Children’s Hospital for ongoing care and evaluation. Angelica’s mother was heartbroken when she learned of Angelica’s condition. Angelica was an active, playful, cheerful young girl but her condition limited her physical activity due to symptoms such as shortness of breath and an inability to gain weight.

Angelica received her electrophysiology operation in El Salvador at the end of March of 2026. This visit to El Salvador was in partnership with Latidos de Esperanza and Benjamin Bloom Hospital! Now, Angelica will enjoy a healthier childhood with more energy and the freedom to grow and play like any other child!
